Fear can be a motivator if we have faith, either in our own abilities or in those of someone or something we trust. That includes a higher power if we chose to accept that there is a loving Being who really loves us completly with no judgments.
This time of the year there is so much change and growth it is easier to see where we might be able to change and grow ourselves if we only dare to try.
I see loved ones and friends and of course, myself, in various challenges where we are offered a choice to stay frozen in fear or to feel the fear and jump in anyway.
The little birds who dare to try to fly and trust that their parents will help them when they do, often leap into the air, fall a bit, then spread their little wings and glide safely to the ground. They are so delighted with themselves, that they jump happily around cheeping loudly, "Look at me, look at me!"
Sometimes, one will stay much longer in the nest, so fearful they don't even venture to the edge. They keep calling and calling for their parents to save them but the wise parents keep just far enough away for the little one to have to try to fly. They will encourage by flying around at times and chirping to the baby until, finally, it leaps too and flutters down a little more clumsily because of it's fear, but it lands softly and joins the others in the cheers. It seems to me that the others are even more excited by the last one jumping in because it had to face much more fear than the others, but did it anyway.
It's time for so many fears to be faced in my life right now and I promise, I am jumping in anyway.
"Huzzah" to all of us who are facing big changes in our lives and decide to use all of our God given resources to FLY!
